ESF EXPLORE: Wheels, Waves & Rails (STEM)

A hands-on STEM experience where little ones design, build, and test simple vehicles (e.g. car, boat, train) through guided mini-challenges.
Student explore foundational STEM concepts – push/pull forces, motion, floating/sinking and balance, and simple structure rules – using age-appropriate materials and lots of purposeful play. This camp turns summer play into real STEM understanding and school‑readiness.

• Build inquiry habits through simple predict-test-observe cycles
• Explore floating and sinking with boat hulls, cargo and “harbour” play, understand push and pull forces, explore balance and stability in bridge/track/rail challenges
• Strengthen fine‑motor skills with safe tools
• Use early maths to measure distance and compare weight
• Practise collaboration and turn‑taking
